Your insurance needs are as unique as you are. You may meet your deductible each year, or maybe you can’t remember the last time you saw a doctor. The Savings Plan is one of two State Health Plan options, and has lower premiums and higher deductibles. BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina (BlueCross) is the third-party administrator for the State Health Plan.
There are no copayments under the Savings Plan. You pay the full allowed amount for services until you meet your deductible. Then, you pay your coinsurance.
A deductible is the amount you pay for covered services before your health plan begins to pay. The Savings Plan is a high deductible plan and has individual deductibles and family deductibles. If more than one family member is covered, no family member will receive benefits, other than preventive benefits, until the family deductible is met.
Prescription drug coverage
Prescription benefits are included with Savings Plan coverage. You will pay the full allowed amount for prescription drugs until you meet your deductible. Then, you pay your coinsurance. Prescription drugs are covered only at network pharmacies. Express Scripts is the pharmacy benefits manager.
You can learn more about the Savings Plan in the Insurance Benefits Guide.
