Schedule an appointment

We offer appointments for one-hour phone consultations, video consultations and  in-person consultations. You will receive the same service regardless of the type of consultation you choose. You may schedule a consultation up to two weeks in advance, but no later than two business days before the appointment date. You may also contact us any time from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 803.737.6800 or 888.260.9430. Calls are answered in the order in which they are received.

Phone consultations

Scheduling a phone consultation is an easy, convenient way to connect with a benefits counselor from the comfort of your home. Best of all, you can continue to practice social distancing while avoiding call wait times. At your scheduled appointment time, a benefits counselor will call you at a number you provide. Your consultation will be tailored to address your needs. A phone consultation may be a good option if you are planning to retire in the near future and wish to receive a full counseling and planning session.

Video consultations

A video consultation is another safe and convenient option PEBA offers to chat with a benefits counselor without leaving home. At your scheduled appointment time, you will connect with a benefits counselor via a secure video chat. Your consultation will be tailored to address your needs. A video consultation may be a good option if you have questions related to PEBA-administered benefits that have not been resolved.

In-person consultations

PEBA also offers scheduled appointments and walk-in consultations at our 202 Arbor Lake Drive location. In-person consultation visits can have longer wait times. You may find that a video or phone consultation is more convenient for you.

How to schedule an appointment

To schedule a consultation, email visitus@peba.sc.gov and include the following information in your email:

  • Name;
  • Phone number;
  • Type of consultation you prefer, phone, video or in-person; and
  • What you’d like to accomplish during your appointment.

A benefits counselor will contact you to schedule an appointment. Then, you will receive a confirmation email with more details about your appointment.

Forms and documentation

PEBA’s online member portals, MyBenefits and Member Access, give you access to your insurance and retirement accounts, allow you to view and update your personal information and conduct online transactions. We encourage members to submit transactions and documentation through the portals.
